Transaction in Own Shares

Bloomsbury Publishing Plc (the "Company") announces that on 20 May 2010, it purchased for cancellation, 79,000 ordinary shares of 1.25p each at an average price of 108.81 pence each per share.

Following this purchase the Company's issued share capital is now 73,937,224 ordinary shares of 1.25p each.
